You go there, but you can’t really interact beyond pantomime, Google translator and meaningful smiles. Imagine the difference if you can get your training while you travel.
How your Spanish for Travelers class works:
You spend the weekdays learning Spanish at SEPA Spanish Language School in the mornings, while you live with a Costa Rican family in our homestay program to practice what you learn in school. You study specific targeted Spanish travel vocabulary, such as making hotel reservations, eating out, signing up for tours, making new friends, etc. You spend your weekends traveling to different areas of our beautiful country, using the vocabulary you picked up during the week.
With 7 different ecosystems in a country not bigger than West Virginia, you have many travel spots at your fingertips: beach, country, mountain, cloud forest, big city, adventure spots, etc. Even better, San Isidro de El General, Perez Zeledon, is in the center of Costa Rica, so whichever direction you pick, you are already half-way there.
Is there a way to start learning Spanish before I travel?
The anticipation is as much fun as the trip itself. You can heighten that fun by signing up for our online Spanish classes and start your study before you even leave your comfortable porch swing. You will have your own personal trainer, who will target the travel vocabulary you will need for getting around successfully. Your teacher will assess your level of Spanish (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and start you exactly on your level so no valuable time is lost.
Are you planning on traveling to a Spanish country other than Costa Rica? No problem. You can still take our online Spanish for Travelers classes before you leave for your Spanish-speaking destination. Spanish is Spanish, no matter where you go.
